1 August, 2022 | News

The Palacio Vergara Museum is one of the most outstanding art galleries in the country, and offers the community its valuable collection of artworks of diverse works and styles, some of which belonged to the Vergara family, the original owners of the building.

This collection is divided into:

CAPITULAR ROOM
It houses the collection of European artists who were part of the collection of the Errázuriz families. The exhibition contains religious paintings created between the 15th and 19th centuries.

GREAT MASTERS
This collection is made up of the museum's collection of Chilean paintings. It includes portraits, landscapes and still lifes by Alfredo Valenzuela Puelma, Alberto Valenzuela Llanos and Pedro Lira, and by the latter's disciple, Benito Rebolledo Correa.

CHILEAN LANDSCAPES
In this section of the museum it is possible to appreciate paintings of diverse national landscapes, among them, the interesting views that Thomas Somerscales painted of Viña del Mar in its first years of urbanization.

In order to bring these collections closer to visitors, the museum's Mediation Area offers workshops, guided tours and educational visits (for students).
